RRB Grade (I & III)

Purpose

  • The RRB Grade 1 & Grade III positions refer to posts in the Indian Railways categorized under the Level 1 (Group D) and NTPC (Non-Technical Popular Categories) Grade III posts.

Application Process

  • Candidates can apply online via the official RRB regional websites.
  • Application Fee:
    • General Category: ₹500
    • Reserved Categories: ₹250

Elgibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification:
    • Must have passed 10th or ITI from a recognized institution.
  • Age Limit:
    • General: 18-33 years.
    • Relaxation: SC/ST (+5 years), OBC (+3 years), PwBD (+10 years).

Exam Structure

  • Computer-Based Test (CBT):
    • Duration: 90 minutes (120 minutes for PwBD candidates with a scribe).
  • Marking Scheme:
    • +1 for each correct answer.
    • -1/3 for each incorrect answer
  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Selection Process

Computer-Based Test (CBT):

  • Duration: 90 minutes (120 minutes for PwBD with scribe).

Physical Efficiency Test (PET):

  • Male: Lift 35 kg and carry it for 100 meters in 2 minutes; run 1000 meters in 4 minutes 15 seconds.
  • Document Verification (DV)
  • Medical Examination.

Syllabus

  • Professional Ability: Relevant to the applied post (e.g., Nursing, Pharmacy, Lab Technology).
  • General Awareness: Current Affairs, Indian History, Economy, and Railways-related topics.
  • Arithmetic, General Intelligence & Reasoning:Numerical Ability, Logical Reasoning, and Analytical Skills.
  • General Science: 10th/12th-grade level Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

Salary and Benefits

  • Grade 1 (Level 1):
    • Basic Pay: ₹18,000/month (Level 1 as per 7th CPC).
    • In-Hand Salary: ₹22,000–₹25,000/month after allowances.
  • Grade III (NTPC):
    • Undergraduate Posts:
      • Basic Pay: ₹19,900 to ₹21,700 (Level 2 and 3).
      • In-Hand Salary: ₹25,000–₹35,000/month.
