Combined Medical Service

Purpose

  • The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Combined Medical Services (CMS) Examination is conducted annually to recruit medical professionals into various central government medical services. This is a prestigious exam, offering positions in departments like railways, municipal corporations, and other central health services.

Application Process

  • Apply online through the UPSC website (upsc.gov.in).
  • Application fee: ₹200 (Exempted for female/SC/ST/PwBD candidates).

Elgibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification:

    • Candidates must hold an MBBS degree or be in the final year of their MBBS program.
    • Must have completed their compulsory rotating internship (or complete it before the appointment).
  • Age Limit:

    • Must not have attained the age of 32 years as of August 1 of the exam year.
    • Relaxations for SC/ST (5 years) and OBC (3 years).
  • Physical Standards: Candidates should be medically fit according to the prescribed standards.
