National Defense Academy and Naval Academy Examination
Purpose
- The National Defence Academy (NDA) Examination and Naval Academy (NA) Examination are conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for admission into prestigious defense academies of India, where candidates are trained for commissioned officer roles in the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force.
Application Process
- Apply online through the UPSC website (upsc.gov.in).
- Application fee: ₹200 (Exempted for female/SC/ST/PwBD candidates).
Elgibility Criteria
- For Army Wing (NDA): Passed or appearing in the 10+2 examination from a recognized board.
- For Air Force and Naval Wings (NDA/NA): Passed or appearing in the 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics.

- Must be between 16.5 and 19.5 years.
- Candidates must be unmarried males or females.

Exam Structure

- General Ability Test (GAT)
- Mathematics: Topics include Algebra, Calculus, Trigonometry, Geometry, and Statistics.

- Negative marking: 0.33 marks are deducted for incorrect answers.

Stipend during Training:
- ₹56,100 per month.

Post-Commission Salary:
- Start at Lieutenant rank (Level 10 pay scale): ₹56,100–₹1,77,500 plus allowances.
