Purpose

  • The TRB Polytechnic College Lecturer Exam is conducted by the Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) of Tamil Nadu for the recruitment of Lecturers in government polytechnic colleges across the state. The exam aims to select qualified candidates for teaching various engineering, technology, and non-engineering subjects at polytechnic institutions.

Exam Structure

  • Written Exam: Paper I : General Knowledge and Education.
  • Paper II: Subject-Specific (based on the subject chosen by the candidate)

  • Each correct answer is usually awarded 1 mark. Negative marking is typically applied for incorrect answers, usually 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

Selection Process

Salary and Benefits

  • Pay Scale: Typically, Polytechnic Lecturers are placed under Level 10 of the 7th Pay Commission Pay Matrix, which starts at around ₹56,100 per month (basic pay).
